Free Body Diagram (FBD)
The equilibrium of the bodies which are placed on the supports can be considered if we remove the supports and replace them by the reactions which they exert on the body. In the following figure the supporting surfaces are removed by the reactions that they exert on the body to obtain Free Body Diagram (FBD).
