DISTINCTION BETWEEN A DYNAMO AND D.C. MOTOR

Dynamo                                                                           D.C. Motor

1. A dynamo is a device which converts the mechanical energy into the electrical energy.

2. A dynamo works on the principle of electro- magnetic induction.

3. In a dynamo, the mechanical energy is used in rotating the armature coil in a magnetic field so as to produce electrical energy.

4.  A dynamo makes use of two separate coaxial slip rings.

1. A D.C. motor is a device which converts the electrical energy into mechanical energy.

2. A D.C. motor works on the principle of force acting on a current carrying conductor placed in a magnetic field.

3. In a D.C. motor, electrical energy is provided by the D.C. source to flow current in the armature coil placed in a magnetic field due to which the coil rotates (mechanical energy is obtained).

4. A D.C. motor makes use of two parts of a slip ring i.e., split ring which acts as a commutator
