🏍️ Motorcycle Trip Essentials
Personal Essentials
- Travel light to avoid heavy luggage that reduces performance and fuel efficiency.
- Pack only necessary clothing:
- Fresh T-shirt for each day (or fewer if staying longer at one place, since clothes can be washed and reused).
- Toiletries, socks, normal shoes, jacket for cold weather, and a couple of jeans.
- Riding gear is worn, not packed.
- Rain gear (for rider and tail bag) and a weatherproof motorcycle cover are recommended.
Motorcycle Essentials
- Spare visor (tinted and clear) and spare gloves.
- Maintenance kit:
- Portable inflator
- Basic tools
- Chain lube and cleaner (diesel works better but unsafe to carry)
- Usually no puncture kit or spares, but considering adding a puncture kit.
- Motorcycles today are more reliable, so fewer spares are needed.
Packing Strategy
- All items fit into one ViaTerra Claw Mini (48L) tail bag plus a hydration bag.
- Laptop, if needed, goes into a larger hydration/laptop bag.
Example Setup
- Motorcycle: Kawasaki ER-6n
- Tail bag: ViaTerra Claw Mini (48L)
- Hydration bag: Camelback
- Larger hydration/laptop bag: Carbonado X16
