According to data made available by World Steel Association (WSA) , India has superceded Japan to clinch the 2nd place all over the world in largest steel producer.
Steel Production in India;
2017 – 101.5 million tonnes
2018 – 106.5 million tonnes, an increase of 4.9% compared to last year.
China is on the top of the list of Steel Producing Nations. China produces 51% of the total World’s Steel Production.
China’s Steel Production;
2017 – 870.9 million tonnes
2018 – 928.3 million tonnes, 1% increase.
India exports it’s steel products to :
- Italy
- Nepal
- Belgium
- UAE
- US
- Malaysia
- Canada, and several other countries. with decreasing order of quantity from no. 1. Italy.
India has also recorded an increase of 83% in the export volume of Steel from 2009 to 2014.
